Seminarian Kenneth Kaimalan Londe CSMA ordained deacon on 30th of June 2012

Our seminarian Kenneth Kaimalan, was assigned with another seminarian from Vanimo Diocese to be ordained deacon on June 30th 2012. Before ordination both exercised retreat at the Minor Seminary of St. John Vianey at Lote (distanced a few kilometres from Vanimo township). The ceremony of ordination took place at the Jubilee church at Dasi (Cathedral parish outstation) situated at the edge of Vanimo on the way the highway leads to the border with Indonesia. A number of faithful from the spot and other places arrived and took part in it together with the religious sisters and seminarians. The Bishop of Vanimo, Cesare Bonivento PIME, together with eighteen priests walked towards the altar in accompany of the song led by youth. After the liturgical readings the ceremony of vestition of three seminarians from Major Seminary of Vanimo took place. Then five other seminarians were conferred with the ministry of acolytes. These parts of the liturgy were not prolonged. But the third part of the liturgy, a much longer, was a nice, performed with all the necessary details and with dignity. This was an ordination. Two seminarians were ordained deacons. One was the seminarian from Vanimo Diocese and another our seminarian Kenneth Kaimalan. The participation at the ceremony was very prayerful. The faithful behaved attentively. Before the final blessing a word of thanks expressed the deacon Ernest Laikel, who on behalf of deacon Kaimalan and himself thanked first of all to God for having been able to received the honour of being ordained. Then he said thank you to the people: the diocesan and retired bishops, seminary professors, formators, priests, religious sisters of various orders, parents, relatives and all who participate in the liturgy and pray together. It was underlined especially the goodness and spiritual support made and shown by the religious sisters.

The day was very shiny and warm. When the Eucharist was over everybody had enough time to take photos, have a friendly chat, drink a soft drink and enjoy.
